October 10th is recognized as World Mental Health Day.
What is so special about the mental health day? I did not focus much on this topic until I started getting so many mails about mental health day at office. I am here today to talk a bit on the mental health topic!
There is an Emotional Intelligence challenge going on right now at our office. It is very interesting one to participate. The challenge involves taking small, impactful steps to enhance our mental health.
Taking a small nap during the day, sleeping well, breathing exercises, yoga, meditation, staying active throughout the day, reading books, doing what we love etc., There are lots of ways to stay connected to our inner selves.
Any time you feel low, remember that there are others who are struggling more than you. Feel blessed and thankful to where you are today. Be ready to face any kind of struggles in life. Struggles will either break you or make you. If it breaks, take some time to rebuild yourselves. If it makes you stronger, carry forward the strength to your future.
Many of us struggle mentally without realizing that it also affects our physical health. Both physical and mental health are very important for all of us. Make sure one doesn’t get impacted by other. I know it is easy said than done, but definitely it is not impossible.
You own your life!!!
Always manifest positive thoughts to the universe.
People will be judgmental about you and your decisions. Recognize when to give importance for the judgmental opinions. Everyone will have an opinion from their experience which is why certain things are very subjective. Identify what is right for you.
There is no point in thinking about what has happened in the past. Learn to trust your instincts and beliefs and move forward. Building emotional resilience requires a lot of willpower. Use your willpower like a muscle and make it stronger.
Be kind and helpful to the needy. Every small act of kindness will take you a long way forward. Meanwhile, kindness should not be mistaken for weakness, and make sure you won’t let people take advantage of your kindness.
Create an identity for yourself beyond your day job.
How do you want to be perceived by the outside world? What are your life goals, values and aspirations? I always stress the importance of these questions.
